Alisha L. Brosse, PhD, Partner

I am a licensed psychologist who specializes in cognitive behavioral therapies for a wide range of presenting problems, especially mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder), anxiety disorders (GAD, social anxiety), and sleep disorders (insomnia, circadian rhythm disturbances, CPAP non-adherence). I am also passionate about helping people implement “lifestyle medicine” (nutrition, exercise, etc) to optimize their mental health. I provide therapy services to individuals, families, and groups. I help to educate the public in my role as a consultant for the Colorado Bipolar Education Project and as an invited speaker for other community organizations. I am also regularly engaged in training professionals in behavioral treatments for bipolar disorder and cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia (CBTi). I am the co-author of the workbook End the Insomnia Struggle: A Step-by-Step Guide to Help You Get to Sleep and Stay Asleep (New Harbinger Publications, 2016), which blends traditional CBTi with acceptance and committment therapy (ACT) strategies.

I received my doctorate in psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2000. I completed a one-year predoctoral internship at the University of Washington Medical Center and then trained for two years at Duke University Medical Center, where I researched treatments for depression and provided psychological services to patients with life-threatening medical illnesses. Upon my return to Boulder in 2002, I established my private practice and began an 18-year stint directing a bipolar disorder specialty clinic, the Robert D. Sutherland Center for the Evaluation and Treatment of Bipolar Disorder.

Spring 2025 Announcement: In October 2024 I moved to Eagle County, a little over 2 hours from my Boulder office. I am now at my Boulder office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and provide telehealth services on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Occasionally, I am unable to travel to Boulder and need to convert all of my appointments to telehealth. Furthermore, I will stop commuting to Boulder in mid-August, and I expect to have an office in the Vail Valley by September 2025. Because consistent, predictable treatment is important, we should only start to work together if you are willing to meet via telehealth (Zoom) as needed.
