Upcoming Trainings:

End the Insomnia Struggle: CBT and ACT for Chronic Insomnia

A 6-Hour Workshop with Alisha Brosse, Ph.D.

New Format! This workshop is being offered as an asynchronous-synchronous hybrid. Each week participants will view approximately 90 minutes of recorded lecture with slides. There will be a 45-minute live session for discussion and Q&A.

When: TBD.

Where: Zoom videoconferencing platform

Cost: $150 professionals / $75 students currently enrolled in a graduate program

Description: This 3-session workshop will train practitioners in cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia (CBTi). Participants will learn the basic elements of a 6-session CBTi protocol, including assessment, psychoeducation, behavioral strategies (e.g., stimulus control and sleep restriction), and cognitive strategies (e.g., cognitive restructuring and designated worry time). Participants also will learn how to incorporate principles and strategies from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (e.g., mindfulness, acceptance, and cognitive defusion) to optimize adherence to, and the effectiveness of, CBTi. The workshop will include a mix of lecture, handouts, case examples, discussion and role plays. Participants will be strongly encouraged to engage in deliberate practice between sessions to facilitate implementation.

Technology Notes: You will need high-speed internet to watch the video lectures and to participate in the live Q&A sessions. Visual aids are an important part of the asynchronous learning experience; please be prepared to watch, not just listen to, the lectures (i.e., don’t expect to listen while you drive or similarly multitask). The video links will expire one week after the last live session.

Intended Audience: Health practitioners (therapists, nurses, physicians, physician assistants) and trainees who want to provide their patients with something more than sleep hygiene instructions.

Cancellation Policy: If the workshop is canceled, payment will be returned in full. If you cancel your attendance and notify us via email (info@bouldercbt.com) at least 3 calendar days prior to the start date, we will issue you a full refund less a $25 processing fee.

About the presenter: Dr. Alisha Brosse is a Licensed Psychologist and co-author of End the Insomnia Struggle: A Step-by-Step Guide to Help you Get to Sleep and Stay Asleep (New Harbinger Publications, 2016). She currently works in private practice; she has previously worked as a consultant providing CBTi at a sleep disorders clinic, and as the director of a bipolar specialty clinic. She has trained practitioners in CBTi in both individual and group formats, in person and on-line, and is passionate about disseminating empirically-supported treatments.
